I used alphabet blocks to spell out my granddaughters name and drilled them out so they could spin around on a dial rod. A simple piano hinge covered up the dial rod ends and twos soft closing hinges were used in the hopes of sparing some fingers. I used chalkboard paint on the bottom of the top so that she could draw there instead of on mom’s walls.

Very nice.
Quick close the lid!......That way they will stay small, young and cute the rest of their lives. If you let them out of the box they grow up.
