I made these out of 2×4 cedar, ripping and cutting the boards to size. All pieces are undercoated with primer, then painted with two coats of the colors. These are for the Alzheimer’s unit garden at our local nursing home, where I volunteer in the summer. We’ll grow purple and white flowers around the purple one, and orange and white flowers around the orange unit. They are six feet tall, and the legs are approximately 24” apart. Parts were assembled using Liquid Nails clear construction adhesive and screws. The top of the units are made with fence post tops.
