My wife Janie fell in love with this piece at the mill at first site. She called it the Mushroom piece. Well she got fired up about it a few weeks ago and start to to planing, inlaying, and sanding away at it. I fixed up a base and legs for it and it was done. It got lots of complements at the show this weekend, at least until the its new owner took it home. I had had mixed emotions about selling her first project, but the couple that bought it were going to put it in their new home they’re building and they really appreciated it.

Thanks for looking,
Alonzo

I love live edge stuff. I think it’s absolutely great!

You are a gifted couple. This will give the new owner’s house a unique sense of beauty.

It was just a simple piece of wood but you turned it into an exquisite table!

There are few that can see the finished piece when it is sitting at the sawmill with chainsaw marks on it. Fantastic job.

I am embarking on a similar piece and I am curious how you attached the legs to the underside of the top. Could you explain or add a pic? TIA.

Thanks everyone! I showed all the kind words to #1 and she was equally gratefull.

Rance, I feel like I cheated on the attachment. I used small 90° bronze colored braces below. I wanted to pocket hole some screws but my buddy that has the jig was out of “pocket”
