I got the idea from a Wood magazine article with some modifications to fit the room properly. I made it for my daughter since we didn’t have enough room to store the surprisingly large number of stuff animals she has collected in less than 2 years. People really seem to like giving her stuff animals :)
The wings are mostly chipboard that has been painted (and the main body) the legs and wheels are poplar, the dowl rods are oak I think. Painted with some nice red and white paint.
First picture is before my wife added too many animals, but before I put on the propeller. Second one is more animals and also more propeller’s.

That is a nice shelf. I am sure that you will have to build an entire fleet of shelves for your daughter to accommodate her ever growing collection of stuffed toys.

I’ve seen some of these in craft shows. I think you did every bit as good if not better than any others I’ve seen.
