The other half of this set of boxes. Red cedar with beetle pine in the lid. The tray I am not sure what they are. Got the wood from a local cabinet makers trash bin. It’s fairly hard with a light pink color. These are also 12” x 8” x 6”. The finish is 2 coats of Danish oil and multiple coats of water based poly. Patron/Grizzman style hinges.

Thanks for looking

Not sure why I didn’t get all pictures uploaded. :-(

Now those look sharp. Just not a color you see every day. Good job.

I’m liking those a lot. You boxmaking skills have taken a quantum leap (and I’ll bet your shop smells really nice).

Great great job on these. You ought to sell a “blue” and a “red” as a set ONLY. I am sure someone would spring for 2 boxes so similar yet so different. Yes…...your skills are getting very good! With all that cedar and box elder you got you are in wood heaven now!!!!!!!!!!!

more sweet work monte

can’t see the trays mentioned
but ’It’s fairly hard with a light pink color’
could be alder
use it allot sometimes myself

that spalted blue pine is great
i always set it aside
when i find a 2×4 with it in it

this combo is really nice

These are very nice Monte. I added them to my favorites list so you get that extra vote. They deserve it.

A great way to combine colors Monte, both are very nice looking boxes.

On the tray’s Patron mentioned Alder, that could quite possible be, Cabinet makers use it a lot, I use Alder a lot on my boxes and don’t really see any pink in it and for a hard wood it’s really quite soft but who knows Patron could be right.
