This was a design similar to one i had seen a friend of mine do it was a small piece of black walnut scrap that looked like it had a lot of figure and i had a some scrap curly maple thought it might look good together so i made this. If i make another one i might pit a base on it as this only stands about 8 1/2 inches tall and is a little top heavy.
-- i cut it twice and it is still to short

This is a very interesting design. You have some nice grain in the walnut and maple that give the piece a gorgeous look.
