This is the secretary desk that I built for my wife a while ago. It had the cubby holes for letters etc inside but she wanted to put our stereo inside to hide it so that’s what we did. The upper part has glass doors and displays various things. The construction is solid red oak. The only ply in it is the back and the drawer boxes. Man, it’s heavy

The angle on the front is unusual as well as the fact that the base is noticeably wider than the top. Are they two separate pieces or does the angle of the picture make the bottom look wider than the top? Also curious why the top drawer is narrower than the bottom three. Does that front panel fold out to form a table?

HI. Thank you for your comments. The bottom is indeed wider than the top. They are two separate pieces yes. The top drawer is narrower. This was done so I could put the two support arms next to it. These pull out and the large angled panel comes down to form a writing desk. If you look closely there are two small brass knobs – one on each side of the top drawer. They allow me to pull them out so the desk doesn’t fall.

HI Eddie. No, I didn’t have a plan for this one. I found a picture in a furniture mag and went from there. Thx for looking
