This is the music stand I made for my son the musician. He asked me if I could make an antique looking one and this is what I came up with. His only stipulation was that he wanted a tree somewhere in the design. The second pic is of the pattern I drew. It pivots and it goes up and down. he liked it

That is B.E.A. – utiful and +1 for being a good Dad and supporting your son. That seriously looks like something you would find in a museum of classical music. I could easily picture any of the three B’s (Bach, Brahms, Beethoven for those of you that don’t care for classical music) turning a page on this wonderful music stand. What instrument does your son play?

He plays several actually. He plays lead and bass guitar, piano, drums, banjo and organ. He has a diploma in sound recording and engineering, does sound engineering for a few bands (has a trailer full of equipment) and has a recording studio in our home. He’s off now getting a totally different degree but he continues to play as much as possible

Dustynut2, your son and my brother-in-law would get along famously. My B-I-L plays more instruments than I can name and is one of those people that can pick up just about any instrument and play something that sounds good in a matter of minutes. The only instrument I ever saw him struggle with was the bagpipes. He quit smoking for a year while he learned to play them and then started back up again after he got good at them.
