Babybeds and cradles are very rewarding projects. I build a couple of these each year as gifts to young couples just starting their family, or donate them to the local prenancy problem center.
These heirlooms are certain to last for generations.

Nice, that crib has a drop down side? What plans did you use to make it?

Both sides drop down. I got the plans from plansnow.com. Thanks for commenting.

These are both beautiful projects that are practical and to give them away is a very nice gesture.
What type of finish did you put on them?
Thanks for sharing both the projects and the story behind them.

Thanks Scott,
The finish was a basic Minwax stain of choice (I don’t remember which), with three coats of satin polyurethane. All mortise and tenon jointery.

Beautiful looking pieces. Indeed they would make great heirlooms. Thank you for posting.
