I built this cabinet recently to house my favorite hand tools. I used some straight grain Douglas Fir to make it. I got the wood directly from a lumber mill in British Columbia. I’m really enjoying having having the tools on display and being able to get them quickly. I finished it with lacquer.

Great job on the build. This was a good addition to your shop.

That is a nice looking Tool Cabinet. I like the glass doors. It lets you see what is missing at the end of fun day in the shop.
I see in the pictures that you are a Grandpa. If you don’t mind, where did you Grandpa Sign come from, if you know. I think that is a great sign, and would love to have one like that for my shop. I am currently building a Christmas gift for one of my Granddaughters.

Hi Bigrock. I’m building some grandkid things toright now. I like to give them something I’ve made every Christmas. The sign was given to me by my G’daughter last year. I’m not sure but I think they got it at a craft fair somewhere. Sorry I can’t be of more help than that.

Everyone should have a cabinet as nice as this to store and display their handtools. Great job and thanks for sharing. I also couldn’t help but notice your workbench has the same problem as mine.
