I have wanted to do this project a long time. I finally got the wood that would do it justice. I have much more detail on the build at my blog.
I did a six part video series on this as well. There are a few tips in the series such as ebony dowel making, dovetail tips, file cleaning and sharpening and first time resin use for me.
This build took a good long time. And I am glad its finished. Main reason is I hate finish.
Thanks to all the fellow LJ’s for there help and support.
You know who you are.

Dave – the long build was well worth it…...they both turned out beautiful! Couldn’t imagine a better gift for your wife.
-- Jeff - I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Dave,
Watched the Music Box V video. Nice and concise. Like your dowels? Had difficulty but eventually got it started. MY first cup of morning coffee???? LOL!
Was that your breathe I saw? If so did the finish dry?
Nice piece. Hope it will be cherished. also hope you had a good Thanks giving.
Interesting that there are not a bunch of responses here? Maybe it’s Benji’s (Reye)post?
