Two small tea boxes made out of walnut leftovers I had form the coffee table.
I used small round magnets (I got out of a magnets game) for the lid to close with grip.

Great looking boxes. I have a question though. What’s a tea box? What makes it different from other boxes?

For storing different types of tea perhaps? Handles are interesting, did you hand carve them?

These are beautiful boxes. Walnut is such a wonderful wood with which to work. You did it justice with these boxes.

Well done.

Thanks for the post.

Beautiful choice and use of timber – well done.
Like Pinkfish, I’d like to know how you made the handles.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.
This is how I shaped the handles:

I start from a thin square post and rotate it while leaning on the belt sander diagonally as in the 1st diagram (Google sketchup)
When I reach the wanted shape (2nd diagram) I cut the head (the short stem) on the table saw and continue to refine the shape with sand paper (rounding the edges)
When I’m pleased with the shape I detach the handle from the post (on the table saw).
