I built this cabin using my Norwood LumberMate sawmill from standing dead lodgepole pine, over a period of 2 summers with the help of my 2 grandsons.

Tom, This is the coolest playhouse I have ever seen. Your grandchildren have to be besides themselves and have smiles stuck on their faces. Very nicely done.

-- Thanks for all the lessons!

Great job. Looks like happy tenants. They’re all that really matters.

Thanks for the very nice comments and the warm welcome. My grandkids live in Seattle, 1400 miles away, so I need to put in the extra effort to make sure they always want to come visit us…..... ;-)

Come visit !!!!!!!, I’d be wanting to move in. As the others have said, that is really a cool cabin. I see the camera is nearby, how about some more photos.

Tom—Well done! I’m getting design ideas for a playhouse for my granddaughter now, and I like your design and construction. Can you provide a few more details and pictures, like overall size and pics of the interior?

Thanks …. The construction is 6” D-Logs that are sawn from 8-10” dia trees. Corners are running butt joints. Logs are doweled and caulked with 6 foot long threaded rods at the corners. Roof panels can be disassembled in 3 pieces and logs can be removed for transport to a new location. The interior floor is 8’ x 10’ ; the sleeping loft is 4’ x 6’ ; ceiling height allows an adult plenty of head room to stand up once inside. The loft gives access to a fixed bridge leading to a spiral staircase the rises to a tower for the suspension bridge the provides access to a ladder going up into the trees to a trapdoor opening to a high deck. The deck surrounds the treehouse (under construction) that will resemble the log cabin when finished. I will post more photos in the album…... stay tuned.

Great project, and with good help. A playhouse has been on my “to do” list for a long time.
