Unfortunately on August 26th, 2012 my dog pasted away due to cancer. I made this urn for her. Its the first I have ever done.

I made the urn out of walnut. I used black walnut Danish oil to seal and stain the wood and then neutral paste wax on top of that. The plaque I had laser engraved into walnut as well but then sealed and stained the wood with neutral Danish oil and then applied neutral paste wax after that. As for the legs, I cut them out of purple heart and again sealed and stained them with dark walnut Danish oil and neutral paste wax to finish it off.

I miss you Jersey Girl!!

Very beautiful box. I’m so sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best, and it’s awful to lose such a devoted companion. This is a really nice tribute to her memory.

Nice urn. I know I’ll be devastated when I lose my dog.

It came very sudden, took her for a walk one night and the next I had to put her down. Found out she had cancer growing inside her heart and there was nothing I could do about it. I think I did her proud…

Have your say...
