This is from a limb off a chinese elm tree that came down in the July derecho storm. It started out about 3’ long and as I worked it, I carved/shaped it down to 24’’ L x 4’’ W and it sets about 2’’ H. The bottom “rest” is also a piece of elm bark that came off of this piece and is attached with CA glue. I finished it with Danish oil and I think it turned out okay.
