This Flag Box was made for my father-in law of 25+ years, who recently passed away. It is made of walnut with maple splines. The base was added as an after thought, my wife wanted the Army emblem added and I had to come up with something. The base is sycamore, a very easy and interesting wood.
We will be giving this to the oldest son today on Thanksgiving. This is our first family get together since his death and we think this would be a good way to keep him in our thoughts. Thanks for looking.

Old Glory never looked better…a very nice tribute. I am sure there won’t be a dry eye in the group when you present it today. Let us know how it goes.

Very nicely done. Can I ask how long the long side of that flag is?

The medalion and the box tag add a nice finish. Just watched Tommy Mac make one. A nice momento.

Thanks for everyone’s comments.
DocSavage45: The side are 17.5” (O.D.) and the base was 24.5” I was inspired by Tommy Mac show also. The flag was a little snug but I think that keeps it from moving around.

Very nice. I like the base very much. What source do you have for the military emblem?

A beautiful tribute, and nice workmanship. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving.
