Hi everyone, this is the finished project I been writing about in my blog, you can read all about it and see some more photos here
Me being left handed and the fact that in most places is really hard to find instruments for lefties just planted the seed in me to want to build a guitar a lot of years ago, but never could follow thru back then when I was an active musician (managed to purchase 4 leftie guitars and 1 bass in 20 years though).
Some years later I started with woodworking as a hobby and obviously the the idea came up again, but I had to start with something kind of easier to gain confidence and to develop some skills hehee, and a CBG looked like the best option, but I had to save the project for the future for a while.
About that time (2 years ago) I bought some wood just for this but didn’t had the time to start with a build until like a month ago. It is never too late, right?
So, the plan was to build a 3 strings fretless cigar box guitar, and a month later here it is, materials used:
Maple neck
Gabon Ebony fingerboard
Tzalam bridge with maple inlays, aluminum saddle
Tzalam accents(heel and tail)
Inlay maple fret line markers
Romeo y Julieta cigar box
3/8” aluminum tubing for the 12 fret marker
Rosin core solder for the side fret markers
Aluminum rivet caps as string guides in the tail
Aluminum nut(diy)
Silver chromed guitar tuners
Piezo mic as pickup
In the end I gained a lot of confidence, learned a lot of stuff, tried some woodworking tasks for the first time, and had a great time building this guitar, of course I’ll have fun while playing it too!
I hope you guys enjoy it and it gives you some inspiration.
Cheers!

That’s nice work. I especially like what you did with the fretboard. I built one CBG and said enough with this! I find regular electric guitars actually easier.
