Crib made for my first born

This is a crib I made for My first born Gavin. Finished the crib back in August but I am just getting around to posting. The Crib is solid walnut, no plywood no laminated pieces. Legs are 12/4 and everything else is cut from 4/4. Very fun project to build and I learned a lot from the importance of jointing, finishing and everything in between. I of course could not have finished this crib without the much needed help of a local LJ Jim Jakosh! He was more help than I could ask for. Unfortunately the crib has not yet been used, we found out at our 40 week appointment that we had lost our baby. We are doing okay with that and still will have more children. Thanks for looking :)

Dave

The crib is amazing!

I cannot express how sorry I am that you lost your baby. I almost lost my girls when I was building a crib. It is a hard process to go through. I will keep you in my prayers.

Beautiful crib.

Tragic loss. Prayers with your family.

Beautiful crib – I’m almost done with the exact same crib (except using maple on mine). A lot of work/love goes into these things. I’m really sorry to hear about your baby. No words can really seem to help I know…speaking from experience…

Great work on the crib. The walnut is fantastic. I was fortunate to make two cribs this year for my first grandchildren. Walnut and cherry. I pray you can experience the joy of seeing your precious creation snuggled in the crib you created.
