This was a long time in the making. I kept getting stuck at points where I was not sure where I wanted to go next or how to solve the problems. I made lots of errors making this piece, although I know how to make a cabinet like this significantly better in the future. It looks pretty nice, the different colours is because some of the wood was bought a couple of years after the other, so the cherry hasn’t darkened up yet.

This is a beautiful piece. Cherry is my personal favorite. It is such warm and inviting wood. You did it justice with this piece.
How did you finish it?
Thanks for the post.

I used a rub on polyurethane for the finish. I find the rub on version makes the finish smoother and nicer than a painted on one. I just dilute a can of normal polyurethane with about 50%ish of mineral spirits and then use a rag to rub it on.
