My mother-in-law wished for a shelf where she could display curiosities that have been found in the recently renovated wing building at their property. The property has been in the family since 1888 so there is a lot of old stuff stashed away. The shelf was made from a 3 m (about 10’) long old plank of fir that I found in the barn. I hand planed it and then routed a nice edge on it. I used my band saw to saw out the consoles. All the knots were sealed and then the whole thing was painted white. Mother-in-law was very satisfied with the design!
