Spire’s Reach is just 1 section of a series of Cottonwood Bark carvings I am doing. Once completed they will all be fitted together to form Stone Keep, a part of the Trembling Mountains Journey.
My idea for this is to create a “story”. I hope to do about 6 of these all with a common theme. You will be able to hang them on the wall or put them together for display on a mantel or coffee table. And yes, my Walnut Navy is part of the overall theme of Stone Keep.
Each of these carvings are done in Cottonwood Bark that I have harvested. I just follow the wood and I never know exactly what will appear. Every brick, every step of the staircase and every window frame is etched out with a V tool, sanded then I wood burn the edges to give it that ancient, weathered look.
Hope you enjoy

Looks like what would happen if Tim Burton designed Minas Morgul.
