Found a small cutting board in a local dept store. It was warped but the salesperson marked it down for me. I think I’ll get 10 or 12 pens out of it…not bad, I’m thinking

Pens are certainly nice, but the find is great.

I will go to yard sales, thrift stores and my eye is alway open for wood items. Not that I want the item, I want the wood. I was able to purchase a nice piece of walnut but cant remember what I paid, but most likely no more than a couple of dollars. Not even sure when I will use it for but know I could get a lot of pen blanks out of it. I am making pens but not happy with my work yet. Just cant seem to get a decent finish on the wood yet. I read a lot and see what others are doing but for the life of me it don’t work out for me.
