Been A While

It has been a while since I have posted any turning projects to the forum. But now that the Corvette is in hibernation and the golf season has come to a close, I figured it was time to get back at some turning.

I had this short of Ambrosia Maple kicking around the shop. Combined with a bit of Roasted Maple I had left from a cradle I built. So the other day I decided to cut them up into 74 small pieces and re-glue them and then put them on the lathe. Ended up with this nice little hollow vessel about 4” by 11” . Finished with Waterloxs.

Pictures don’t really do this piece justice: Comments always welcome.

This looks cool. I like the sunburst top. I have one question, what is roasted maple?

Nice segmented piece….I have a MG midget and know how the wind in the hair can get in the way of turning.
