Major Wallop

Here is a mallet I made yesterday. I recently acquired a lathe and I am having a lot of fun learning woodturning. The wood is Bolivian rosewood and maple. I left a little inclusion of sapwood to act character. I’m hoping that in use it will be able to deliver gentle persuasion or major wallop as needed, perhaps intimidating chisels to their task just by reaching for it, lol, ;).

Well Done, I’m also starting out on the lathe, mind if I copy your dual wood design?
