Freedom Pens

Got hooked up with the Freedom Pen Projects from work. I am still surprised how many wood turners don’t know about this movement. I didn’t. It is where you turn pens for our soldiers, send a little note with each, and they are sent off to meet up with our soldiers serving. A great idea! It lets them know that we care.

The first time around they send you 25 pen kits (slimline) to add your wood and labor to. You send them back to Joe (link below), this site explains all that we can do to support and uplift our soldiers. Check it out. This my first 25. I used mostly laminated wood from Rutland Wood, with a few walnut, and exotics. My wife helped out a little, but it was fun, and a great chance to hone my pen making skills. Thanks for looking and considering getting in on this movement, I am glad that I did.
