I have been using this fence system for a while and still have not seen another one like it, so I thought I would share it with everyone.
At the time I started the project, I had just completed my tablesaw workstation and needed a good router fence. I searched for DIY plans and could not find anything that seemed suitable, so I designed it from scratch. The fence mounts to a box that slides within a bigger box. This inner box is spring loaded to the retract position. Wedges/ramps then adjust with a knob in order to push the inner box out. This will be the micro-adjustment. The whole assembly slides on the same fence system as the tablesaw and acts as the course adjust. As for the dust collection, it comes into a box mounted under the table where the router is mounted and collects from above (through the slot seen in the tabletop) and from below. There is so much suction that it acts as a hold-down against the fence. When I’m done with a pass, I open the router access door (on the side of the tablesaw workstation) to relieve the suction, or if I’m done I just turn off the DC by closing the blast gate. For more info on the tablesaw workstation or dust collection system, see my other projects.
I hope the pictures clear things up, as this is kind of hard to explain. Also, this is the first build, so please feel free to send constructive criticism and comments!
