This Project required the use of Zebra wood for the braided rug. The big dog uses Walnut (body) and Ebony (eyes and nose). The puppies are Sycamore which has grain structure that looks like fur. The rug is a series of pie shaped pieces, with a focal point located in the middle beneath the mother, and glued together.
After the rug is fitted around the labradors, then the oval cuts are made, shaped and then glued together.

Chris, you have done an outstanding job on this Intarsia piece. Your selection of the various woods makes for an excellent composition. How big is the piece?

That looks great! The perspective effect on the rug is perfect.
