Well…what is the wood…let me tell you a story…I answered an add on craigslist for a lathe. The lathe turned out to be the Habor Freight model which I wasn’t interested in. However, the gentleman had a set of Crown turning tools worth about $200 which he said he would let go for $75. I said I had 4 $20 bills and he said I could take some wood if I wanted. This was the wood I chose but I don’t know what it was and neither did he. It is also the wood found on the purple bowl that exploded and the lighter colored wood on the walnut segmented bowl.

Steffen,
This is another nice piece and an even nice story behind it.
Thanks for sharing.
