A friend of mine, who took a day from work and drove 6hrs round trip, ran a new 100 AMP panel from the house to my woodshop. When I tried to give him money, he refused and asked only that I make him something. I said sure thing… He asked me to build a prayer kneeler for his house. He only had one requirement, which was that it be made out of “scrap” that I had on hand in the shop.

I ended up using 2 different woods in the project, pine and oak. The majority of the kneeler is made out of white pine that came from a tree my father and I cut down when I was a boy. For whatever reason my father had this tree and another we took down milled into boards. The boards were stacked with shims up in our attic for 20 years. The top board and the actual part you kneel on is made out of white oak.

Nice. I’ve thought about making one of these as well.
