I turned out still another batch of 25 Freedom Pens and got them ready to mail back to the project administrators.

These are all cherry finished with O.B.’s Shine Juice.

BTW … if anyone is interested, drop a note to Capt Eddie Castelin ( and tell him you want to sign up! With Veteran’s Day 2012 just a few days away, now would be a great time to let someone in uniform know you appreciate what they are doing for us!

As a recipient of some of these pens during my last deployment, I would just like to say thank you for your time, money and effort to make these for those in uniform. Everyone in my command really enjoyed them and I have two that I put in my chest where I put little things that I’ve collected over my years in the Navy.

The local Woodcraft is sponsoring a pen making event this Saturday. My daughter and I plan on going to make a few ourselves.
