Had this design floating around in my head for a while and finally got er done. The legs are walnut and were shaped on my bandsaw and horizontal sander (and of course, good ole meditative hand sanding). All the rest is Mahogany….Stained with a satin lacquer finish.
The last picture shows a 5/8” x 5/8” rabbet i cut into the legs before shaping to fit snugly over the box’s mitered corners.
The box measures approx 12” wide x 7 1/4” deep x 5 1/2” tall.

This is a beautiful little box! I really like the design and the wood.
But tell the truth….you copied the legs from Russel’s “pointed stick” post, didn’t you? :-)

Miles,
You did well with this box. It is gorgeous both in its appearance and design.
Well done.
Thanks for the post.

Wow Miles, While it isn’t my style, I certainly recognize the skill involved. Very well designed and crafted. I’ve really enjoyed your work in the past as well.

Great design. I’ll be willing to bet that there are more stunning boxes floating around in there as well.

That is very cool! From the looks of it, it’s African Mahogany.
Those legs are great! Nice job.
