Made this for a client to practice dovetailing. Through dovetails join the outsides, rabbeted half-blind dovetails join the drawer faces to the drawers. Hard maple with some African Mahogany trim. Finished with Tung Oil. Still debating whether or not to add tiny drawer pulls… (update—decided to add knobs…)

I now officially hate hand-working hard maple. Chisels, planes, and my little dovetail saw, though sharp, feel like I’m rubbing a butter knife over glass. Anyone else have that issue?

Clean, elegant. Nice tones to the box.

Found this while searching today, I really like this jewelry box. It’s simple but still has an elegant feel to it. I really like it, nice work.
