Cherry Tool Cabinet

This cabinet was designed around the Golden Mean, an early school project as practise in hand tools. The criteria was dovetails and tenons, all cut by hand. This piece fastens to the wall with a french cleat. I epoxied rare earth magnets into the cleat and veneered over them so most hand tools will hang, seemingly from mid air!
The case corners are dovetailed with the last tail mitered. The shelf is dadoed and has tenons exposed on the outside. Also the face edge has a slight bevel inwards. Drawer faces are curly maple veneer with purple heart handles hand carved.

That’s a fine cabinet. I really like the mitered DTs. Great work!
