Here`s one of my folk art creations…the birds are husked butternut tree nuts that are carved and painted , i try to match them to the wildbirds that come to my feeder. The 3 top ones are wrens, bottom left-chickadee and right- yellow finch. The back piece is a weathered poplar board from the local sawmill. All the woods are natural… No stain ! Cherry and black walnut, red cedar door mat, white oak porch, sliced butternut wreath on door, carved bone door handle and star. These creations bring a smile to anyone who looks at them…I also make the pencil holders using natural tree limbs but these farmhouses are a big hit.

There is a smile on my face also, great looking houses. If you add pigeons, woodpeckers, wood ducks, red
winged blackbirds, mallards, and an occasional camp robber blue jay, you would have the birds around our
feeders at various times of the year. The wife even get a few hummingbirds with her flower garden. Those
feathered friends are great company at any time. Thank you for sharing.

Those butternut birds are the coolest. You can’t help but grin! That would be a welcome addition to any home.

Beautiful work and all natural to boot! Great job.

I am an Architectural Illustrator, & I really like these pieces. Been thinking about using my architectural skills in woodworking. You are an inspiration.
