I have recently made several of this large style rocker, even some child sized ones. I made up my own plan, after seeing an article on manufactured ones in a “Wood” magazine some 20 yrs ago. I liked the straight oversized posts. As I built each chair, made some changes to improve the design. This one is a mix of left over wood, using Ash, Walnut and Jabota . Stained one coat of dark walnut, gloss lacquer. Others I have made from western red cedar and do sit on a porch. This one being fancy stays inside.

Beautiful Rocker, nicely executed and a great Fit and Finish.

Thanks for sharing your build. – Grandpa Len.

Bryan, that’s one dam* fine looking rocker. Excellent craftsmanship and I would sure like to be sitting on the front pourch with a cold one rocking in that one. Thanks for posting and the inspiration too.

Great looking rocker. I like the turned legs and the deep curve on the back with you laminations.

That rocker looks great. The turned pieces are a real nice touch.
