Howdy,
I made these end tables to go with the Pentagonal Cocktail Table. I enjoyed making them and they were fairly easy. Except – not easy at all. ;) I won’t go into the entire essay about them because I was able to correct my errors. The simpler the style is – the less tolerance there is for getting something wrong because it screams out loud – “I’m A Flaw!” That being said – I made some fire wood and the tops are 1/2” by 1/2” smaller than they started.
The top and legs are repurposed oak from a countertop. The Brazillian Cherry surrounding the table top came from my dumpster find.
They are not my crowning acheivement but I like them just fine and they are perfectly suited for the small room they are going into.

Hey lumberjocks,
Thanks for the compliments! You all are very kind, supporting and fantastic teachers. I don’t what to hex myself but it’s starting to get easier. I have many lessons to learn. I can’t wait to learn them.

Mark,
A pair of handsome side tables, nicely proportioned and a great fit and finish.
:-) ...did you find all of those 90* angles challenging after your Pentagon Table?
BTW, ...a ‘Wink and a Nod’ from Mother Nature for repurposing the lumber in these tables.

That edge-banding makes a nice finishing touch and compliments the oak very well. Excellent work! And who doesn’t like Twinkies?

I echo a lot of sentiments posted above. Simple and clean lines, but simple and clean is one of the most difficult looks to achieve. You did a great job on these. It’s hard to believe this is all from re-purposed materials.
Also, where the heck are you finding Brazillian cherry in a dumpster???

Thanks all for the wonderful comments and compliments. It may not last but these tables somehow made to the top 3. That’s a first for me. I had to save a screen shot. ;)
You all are funny. It seems I named the tables correctly.
Edge – banding? Good, now I know what to call it.
Joe – cool huh? I am constantly looking here and there. You might get a chuckle out of these:
