Here’s another one of my lapsteels that makes people smile. My tribute to the West Indian Manatee, an endangered species that lives & plays in the bays & rivers of Florida. Finished in a stunning Manatee burst. The little manatee is made from yellow pine with an oak fretboard. I used a Gretsch humbucker and a Gibson style wrap around bridge. The eyes are the volume & tone controls. I hope you like it.

Dave that is a beautiful instrument!! I was doing a turning class at our high school yesterday and there were a few kids interested in guitars and I gave them the location of your work on here so they can see how neat the stuff is that you do!! Maybe they will follow in your footsteps!!

Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. I really enjoy making fun instruments. Especially things with faces. Sad to say I don’t have any videos of me playing anything, but I do have a couple videos of people playing my axe handle slide guitars.
