A friend has a chair of yellow wood (Podocarpus latifolius) and Imbuia that needed repair of one of the legs. On inspection the leg was beyond help. Not wishing to replace it with Imbuia (very scarce and not willing to destroy my only surviving plank) I made a leg from walnut. Very please with the outcome. Several months later I had to inspect the chair to see which one was the “fake”

You should have made both front legs out of walnut and kept the Imbuia leg for yourself. ;-) Nice fix for a fascinating chair.
