Cross-post disclaimer!
Finally finished this- it will be a night table for myself, and is the first thing I have made that is primarily for me!
This table was made from a single wide board of curly maple (10/4 stock, eastern soft maple that was 13” wide and 6.5 feet long- and I still have some left!). Secondary wood is curly aspen for drawer sides/bottoms. Top was book matched and the board laid out so the grain wraps around the piece.
Traditional construction: M & T using hand cut tenons, hand cut dovetails, etc. Only hand planes used to surface this (no sandpaper touches wood in my shop!!).
Finish: two coats of BLO and numerous rubbed on blonde shellac.
Any comments welcome, and thanks for looking!!

Very nice! Great job on the dovetails and the grain is super nice. No sandpaper is quite daunting, but more power to you.

Love that curly maple, and that Shaker style. I am working on a 7-drawer Shaker piece as I type. Mine will be out of soft maple and NOT nearly as attractive as yours. Well done!
