Sides and lid frame made from sapele. Lid is veneered walnut burl with an accent strip as it’s border. Lower tray partitions are walnut. I created the halp laps using the Bridge City Tool Works KM-1 (kerf maker 1). Excellent too, I highly recommend it. Upper sliding tray is sapele as well. Box sides are mitered with walnut dovetail keyed joints. Lower box bottom and tray bottom are both lined with red suede wrapped on a thin foam board for cushioning. Finished with a rubbed on sating urethane finish.

Another nice one. Love the burl top. Tapering the box sides gave those dovetail keys an interesting look.

I neglected to mention the design wasn’t my own…..if you get Woodsmith magazine or watch their show they get the credit for the design.

Really nice piece. I get a lot of inspiration/ ideas from Woodsmith. They have some good designers.
