Here’s my winter project – an outfeed table/assembly table/storage cabinet. It all started out as a brainstorm as a better way to utilize my space that was just kind of “dead” behind the table saw. Okay, so storage and outfeed it was. Then I happened upon Marc Spagnuolo’s torsion box for a flat assembly table top and figured I could just as easily incorporate that too. So, here’s the result.
All 13 drawers are full extension glides so it is a breeze finding stuff (because there’s a LOT of stuff hidden away in there!) Open shelf in the middle – a great spot for all those tool cases that start to pile up. Everything sits on heavy duty locking/swiveling casters. Locked, it is rock solid. Drawer pulls nothing fancy, just a quick project on the router. Trimmed out with walnut leftovers.

Looks like you’ve filled it up and need more drawers! :-)
Nice job.

That looks really nice and highly useful! There is never enough drawer space, is there?

Looks great. In my shop the top would also be full before I could get the camera.
Great job.

I can see you needed the drawers because they look full. But to build a flat surface to work on and extension for the saw and draws, this means you really thought this out. Great Design.

Nice job! I like the fact that it has multiple functions and can be rolled around. Space is always at a premium.

This is a nice cabinet. I’ve been trying to work out the way I want to add an outfeed table to my saw, and this looks like a good option, especially with the wheels. I like the storage and the use as an extra work bench area.
Thanks for the post.

Hey bkhop, I know you posted this a while ago, but I’m looking at making a very similar table for my shop. Do you have a plan that you could post? I’m particularly interested in what you did to support the casters. I’m worried about the cabinet sagging in the middle. Any suggestions?
