Flat Sawn Odd Black Walnut Side Table on Metal Drum

A renown cabinet maker severed this piece of black walnut off an 8Ft+ slab of walnut because of the void. I was drawn to it for the void. i painted a black metal drum and viola! One mans trash is another mans side table. The TreeRat strikes again.

Beautiful piece. I might be tempted to fill the void with clear epoxy to smooth it out.

I know Monte. I just like leaving things as natural as possible. Kind of enjoy being able to see where my keys fall :)
