This is the last of that redwood joist. Just a different shape from the previous one and some plain soft maple. Dimensiions: 13×6 1/2×6”. Finish: 3 coats brushed on shellac followed by Renissance wax. I like the finish a lot better on this one probably because it features more side and end grain and less face grain.

Aw, Andy, you’ve out done yourself on this one.
Old dry redwood is like trying to get a finish on a sponge, but you did a great job on this.

This is a very nice one Andy. I love the contrasting drawer fronts.

Andy, very creative use of the wood. I like the look of this. It is a lovely freestanding sculpture that happens to be useful. You must have been thinking up some new ideas while you were unable to work in your shop. Sometimes that is the way it happens. Keep boxing and keep posting.

Thanks guys. Not sure what to try next but I’ll have a lot of time to plot as I’m out of the shop for almost 3 weeks (AQHA World Championship Show – Nov.2-18). David, I actually made a Christmas tree recently for my wife to display her hand made ornaments in the Market booth. (Think Tinker Toy construction painted green!)

I really like this design Andy. The increasing box sizes really make for a unique look. I know you will be having shop withdralwls but the cure is just a few weeks ahead.
