This build was designed to look like the customers actual house, the door opening for the dog is a bay window on the real house. this pet haven is insulated and has a light fixture to provide a little extra heat for the colder days.
a hardwood deck provides a hangout area for the 2 rescued pit bulls to relax in the summer! The fluffy dog is my daughters, not a pitbull!
See the entire build on youtube… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncpJRktliIk

That is the cat’s meow! Sorry. My son and I built a log dog house out of landscape timbers. Split down the middle and lined with thin plywood for insulation. Off on one back corner, he put a “chimney” with a removeable top. On for the winter with a heavy cloth over the door. Summer, he takes the top and puts a couple of 1×2’s under it for ventilation.
