This is my second finished box but it’s a very sad ending. I had started this box over a year ago to practice on for yes an urn. I do have to make urns for my parents that I guess comes with being a woodworker. I knew the box was to small for human ashes and had put the project to the side maybe procrastinating due to the emotional part of a project like that. Well last week our little girl poodle of 14 years past away from liver cancer which we found out about a week prior. So I pulled out this box that needed a base, lid and finishing. I wanted to do more but had no time. The 5th picture is of our little girl poodle. The picture is of her two day prior to her passing. Every year we take her to the park to take pictures of the fall foliage. She loved running through the leaves, Sorry for the details of the history of the box. The box and the base is made of cherry the lid and the flower holder is made of walnut. It has 3 coats of linseed oil I still have to wax and polish it and attach the plaque for the front.

Nice project, sad ending. Projects are always better when they come with a story.

Great project and a great way to honor your beloved companion of 14 years.
