This is my first attempt at making a cutting board. I was tired of using a giant, thick glass one that we have, so I made a small one out of maple and padauk. It’s about 6” x 9” and just over 1/2” thick and finished it with mineral oil.

Really nice board, what kind of wood is it? The colors really POP !!!!

That looks pretty good – the color of the padauk really pops and the relieved edge and curved corners help give it a “finished” look.

I like it, now try not to let the addiction grow. I didn’t plan on it but they let me turn out projects often enough to feel that I’m accomplishing something and there always seems to be a need for a gift.
