This my Pinewood Derby Car Twinmill. It is made mostly made of Balsa wood with a pinewood base. The steering wheel is walnut with a clear coat. It almost did not make it to the race. The paint was bad and had to be stripped and redone. It was three colors before this final color. It won First place For Design at the Nevada Day Pinewood Derby. Added propper redline wheels to finish the look.

Fantastic work – do you actually race all of these or just a select few? I still fondly remember building these when I was a wee Cub Scout back in the early ‘80s. None of my designs were remotely this good looking!

I actually had the hotwheels model of this car. Wish I still had it. Did you know that Hotwheels actually made a driveable, full size car out of this model? Now that’s the one I wish I had! Cool looking race car.

Thanks all , Twinnmill was a real car back in the 60’s and Hot Wheels made a copy of it .Then They made there owne version in the 90’s and a Twinmill II .Mine is kind of a blend of the three.

Great cars. I’ve seen a few on pwd sites (derbytalk.com I think). Are these fast cars or intended for show only?

Nice set of car you’ve made there and yes it does look Hot Wheels like.
I’ve been trying to find out something about the Pinewood Derby events and seem to be only getting bits & pieces on the net….
From my knowledgeable we haven’t really got it in Australia.
Anyways, great toys.
Cheers, crowie
