This is a rose that I carved out of butternut for a customer on commission. It is the first rose I have done that the stem and leaves were done out of one piece of wood, and it took three times as long because of it. It actually took me over 100 hours I think to complete it. I started it in August and Shipped it today.
It was a birthday gift for my customers wife.

Visit my online store at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignerFirewood to see what carvings I have for sale.

Creating Designer Firewood Since 2006. eh? I am SO stealing that idea! (Hope you don’t mind)
I noticed that you keep marking off your center line right up until the last stages; I think I’m gonna steal that idea, too. I’ve gotten myself into trouble not doing that before.
That AC grate: is that part of your dust collection system, or do you live in an incredibly hot climate like me? Just wondering…..
Thanks for posting this! You do some fantastic work, and it IS hard as hell to make something from just one piece of wood, ain’t it?

Thanks everyone.
Scimman… You always want to keep your centerline. The grate is my dust collector inlet. Keeps tools from falling into it.
