This is bookcase, not a cutting board…
It is made from one of my all time favourite timbers… New Guinea Rosewood.
It stands 1.6 metres tall and is over 2 metres wide… [over 5 feet high and just under 7 feet wide…]
Carcase has blind dovetail joinery and all the shelves and vertical dividers are fitted with sliding dovetails…
One fine detail is that all the face fronts are rounded over at the join…
Finished with several coats of Danish Oil handrubbed…
Last pic is another teaser… a chest of drawers made at the same time from the same timber…
Both delivered last week… to very proud new owners…
When I have time I will post more on the chest…
Thanks for stopping by to take a look..

Very nice! I like the staggered supports, the open ends and the dove tailing.

I like the combination of the holes in the side, with the dovetails. To my eye, they seem to complement one another. And of course, the New Guinea Rosewood is always pretty! Curious to learn more about the chest of drawers.

Nice Work Larry… but…
Are you SURE it’s not a cutting board, made to look like a bookcase?? :)

Nice! I love that wood and glad to see that you are now laser cutting your dovetails. LOL They do look laser crisp.

Anything with dovetails is quality work in my opinion. Nice design and beautiful wood. Wish I had some exotic rosewood in my stock.
