I built this “PINE BOX” for the ex…. Think she will get the message!!!!!!!!

Just kidding!!!!!!!! She wanted it for a Halloween prop. Even though we have been divorced over 20 years I still can’t say no to her. After all, she is the mother of my beautiful daughter. I wish more parents of divorced children would show a little respect for each other and we would have children that were a lot happier. At least they could pretend to get along if they really love their children.

Anyway, I used 1/2 inch thick pine that I cut on my mill to keep the wieght down. It’s 5’ 6”long and 2’ wide by 15inches deep, so it still ended up not beening real light. It is nothing fancy, since it will only be used once a year for a few days.
I have been wanting to build a chest with a domed lid like a treasure chest so I tried it of this for practice.
This was a fun fast project to build. But, I had even more fun when I posted it on facebook with the same title as I started this description with. Never had so many comments. My ex joined right in and wanted to know why, if it was for her, it didn’t have a satin lining. Told her she was lucky to even get a box!!!!! She finally had to get me off the hook and tell everyone one that it was a prop she ordered for halloween. Actually I think we both had fun with some of the posts.

This one got me smiling and puzzled at the same time. I cannot not look. Relieved to know the story behind it.
That’s a wonderful relationship you share with your ex. The coffin says it all … Just kidding 
Anyhow, it is an exquisite masterpiece.

Joe-; So….what did you get your wife for Christmas this year.
Blow-; NOTHING, she didn’t use what I got her last year.

Very nice Halloween prop! Now all she needs to do is put in a skeleton, and add some creeky noises, and freak out the trick-or-treaters!

Man, as the son of divorced parents who did not get along AT ALL, I applaud you and your ex’s attitude (to say nothing of your woodworking skills – that’s a nice looking coffin!)

Okay! How is it that this project did not make the top three? It really doesn’t matter, but I was just wondering.
